INDIAN VADA PAV WITH A CHEESY TWIST
INGREDIENTS
Potatoes - 1/2 Kg Boiled, Peeled and Grated
Mozzarella Cheese - 10 (1/2 inch cubes)
Onion - 1 small (Finely chopped)
Green Chilies - 5 medium
Cumin seeds - 1 tspn
Coriander seeds - 1 tspn
Spice mix (garam masala or curry masala) - 1 tspn
Salt - According to taste
Oil - 1 tbsn
Gram flour - 300 g
Water - As required (to prepare batter)
Oil - To deep fry
PROCEDURE
1. In a non stick pan, pour oil. Heat the oil a little and add cumin and coriander seeds. After 20 seconds add onions and chilies and cook till golden. Add grated potatoes and cook till evenly mixed. 2. Let this mixture cool.
3. In the mean time prepare thick batter with gram flour and water. To the batter add salt and spice mix.
4. Make 10 - 12 balls of potato mix. To the center of each ball hide a cube of cheese. Coat each ball evenly with the batter and deep fry in oil till golden brown.
5. Cut in the middle, you will find melted cheese
6. Serve with bread (grilled with butter). Special Indian bread called Pav is used.
