INGREDIENTS
SEMOLINA - 250 GM
GHEE / OIL - 250 GM
SUGAR - 400-500 GM
WATER - 1 KG / 1 LITRE
GREEN CARDAMON POWDER - 1/2 TSPN
PROCEDURE
1. Add sugar to water and put it on high flame to get a homogeneous sugar syrup. Add green cardamon powder and turn off the flame and keep aside.
2. Heat the Ghee / Oil in thick bottom pan. Add semolina and mix thoroughly. Wait for semolina to cook (When cooked it will release a very sweet smell. Do not burn the semolina, it should be very light brown).
3. Add the sugar syrup prepared earlier and keep the laddle moving so that it does not stick to the bottom. Keep moving till oil is released from sides of the Halwa in the pan. Turn off the flame. Garnish with grated coconut and dry fruits of your choice.
