Have you ever tried sowing a seed? If you have then I think you have done something good. Its is a wonderful experience to watch that seed germinate with cotyledons pushing out of the soil, then the first leaves appear and starts to grow, then the stem starts developing with more branches and leaves. That little seed grew into a plant and started giving us flowers or fruits. The seed was full of life and energy and when it came in contact with soil, water and oxygen it bloomed.
Every seed has a stock of fats, minerals and vitamins that help it germinate. From centuries, humans have extracted oil from many types of plant seeds and the remaining husk was used as feed for cattle. The new researches have shown that some seeds contain ingredients that are very healthy for human consumption like sunflower, pumpkin, flaxseed, sesame etc.
All these seeds need separate introduction because different seeds have different qualities and components. Some of these are discussed here
